TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Department of Economic Development of the Taipei City Government launched Taipei Green Week to great fanfare.
In light of multiple health concerns and scandals involving major food companies, as well as current concerns over population growth prompted by the release of documentaries detailing the severity of pollution in Taiwan, the Taipei City Government launched Taipei Green Week with the goal of implementing green awareness as well as promoting the incorporation of green products in their wares.
With the goal of simultaneous development of the economy and protection of the environment, the Taipei City Government has devised the “Taipei City Product Packaging Improvement Counseling Program,” which features the theme of “Green Packaging.” The city has since advised over 40 companies, aiding them to incorporate environmentally friendly ideas into design, packaging and development.
