Rain, winds for marathon participants today: CWB

TAIPEI--Those attempting to test their mettles at the Taipei Fubon Marathon on Sunday might need to put on waterproof and windproof gear, as the Central Weather Bureau predicts that rainfall and wind could prevail throughout the day.

The unstable weather, caused by a rain-bearing cloud band moving in from China, could be felt especially in northern and eastern Taiwan, forecasters said.

Daytime low temperatures could remain at around 18 degrees Celsius in Taipei, while the level of wind could be stronger than what has been felt over the past few days, reaching 7 to 9 meters per minute, according to the bureau.

Daytime highs are expected to reach 21 degrees, the bureau said, adding that the unstable weather pattern could continue into next Tuesday.
