Two sides set to discuss cross-strait 'early harvest'

TAIPEI--The next meeting of the Cross-Strait Economic Cooperation Committee, which coordinates issues related to a framework agreement on trade between Taiwan and China, will be held in Taipei on Dec. 10.

The Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF) said the two sides will review the implementation of the “early harvest” program under the cross-strait Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement (ECFA) signed in 2010 and progress made in talks on a trade in goods pact.

The SEF said that six working units under the committee, covering merchandise trade, trade in services, investment, dispute resolution, industrial cooperation and customs cooperation, will also look at issues in their specific domains.
