Temperatures set to drop again from Friday: CWB

TAIPEI -- Temperatures around Taiwan could drop again starting Friday due to the arrival of a cold air mass from China, the Central Weather Bureau forecast yesterday.

The mercury could fall around 2 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday, before heading higher on Sunday, when the cold air mass is expected to weaken, the bureau said.

Day and night temperatures could also vary by up to 10 degrees around Taiwan, especially in the central and southern parts of the country, from Wednesday until Dec. 9, the bureau said.

Daily highs during the period are expected to reach 23-24 degrees in Northern, Northeastern and Eastern Taiwan and 26-27 degrees in Central and Southern Taiwan, according to the bureau.
