The match ended in the seventh inning on Taiwan's strong lead.
The victory came days after Chinese Taipei — the team's official name — overpowered Guam 15-0 Sunday in a six-inning game called short by the mercy rule, and crushed Hong Kong 25-0 Monday in five innings.
Chinese Taipei made a strong showing against Japan by scoring five runs in the bottom of the second inning, adding six more with consecutive hits at the bottom of the fourth. Japan switched its pitchers several times, but none could effectively stop Taiwan's strong offense.
Starting pitcher Wang Yao-lin had a strong outing, leaving the game in the bottom of the sixth inning with six strikeouts, giving up three hits and one walk.
