Rainy weather to continue this week due to monsoon
CNATAIPEI -- Although Typhoon Usagi has moved away from Taiwan, rainy weather could continue in some parts of the country during the week due to the moist air from the typhoon and the strengthening of a northeast monsoon around mid-week, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said yesterday.

Intermittent rain is likely in eastern and southern Taiwan on Monday, while afternoon thunderstorms are expected in areas north of central Taiwan on Tuesday, the CWB said.
From Wednesday evening, an intensifying northeast monsoon could cause a temperature drop of about 4 degrees Celsius in northern and northeastern Taiwan, the bureau said.
From Sept. 25-27, daily highs of 28 to 31 degrees are likely in these areas, while the lows are expected to range between 22 and 24 degrees, according to the bureau.
