Taiwan reigns again at Earth Science Olympiad
CNATAIPEI, Taiwan -- Taiwanese students walked away from the 7th International Earth Science Olympiad with three gold medals and one silver, marking the seventh consecutive year that Taiwan has come in first at the competition.

The four Taiwanese students tied with the team from South Korea for first among teams from 27 countries made up of a total of 90 competitors.
The three Taiwanese gold medal winners were Chang Chen-yen from National Tainan First Senior High School (TNFSH) and Huang Pin chun and Wu Chun-ju, both from Taipei Municipal Jianguo High School.
Hsieh Pin-kuan from TNFSH won a silver medal.
A total of 10 golds, 19 silvers and 30 bronzes were handed out at the Olympiad.
The nine-day event, which aims to raise student interest and public awareness of the earth, took in place in the state of Karnataka in southern India.
