TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The CTBC Charity Foundation (中國信託慈善基金會) has assisted 35 teens living in orphanages and children's homes in Taiwan to personally gain practical experience in independent career development.
More than 70 staff members of the group's Chinatrust Commercial Bank provided their expertise when the teenagers filled out application forms and prepared for job interviews offered by 12 enterprises in Tainan City in Southern Taiwan.
Upon meeting necessary requirements, some of them were immediately hired by the enterprises after their interviews.
Chairman Jeffrey Koo Jr. (辜仲諒) of the CTBC Charity Foundation personally led senior executives from CTBC Holding to take part in the event and offer their services.
Executives explained that the event was designed to help young people who were about to leave the orphanages to achieve financial independence after receiving vocational training.
Enterprises participating in the event, mainly business partners of CTBC Holding, came from various fields, including travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, hair salons and retail outlets.
Similar events will be held to assist more teenagers at the children's homes around Taiwan, CTBC Charity Foundation said.
