Outstanding! TLI honors the work of nine alumni
The China Post news staffTAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Taipei Language Institute (TLI) Alumni Association and the Outstanding Alumni Award dinner was held at the restaurant in the Army Association on Friday, Aug. 30, with a total of 110 alumni and guests from all over the world participating in the reunion event, according to a press release issued by the TLI.

At the dinner party, nine alumni were honored with the Outstanding Alumni Award for their achievements in Mandarin learning and professional fields. They are: Jacques Duraud, Katayama Ai, Marine Chantebout, Kathleen Mackay, Don Shapiro, Dr. Han-Sun Chien, Kevin Magee, Okada Mitsuhiro and Michael Colle.
The founder and chairman of TLI Group, Dr. Marvin Ho, presided over the party, with Jason Ho, CEO of TLI Group, serving as the emcee. Marvin Ho expressed his appreciation for the alumni's support and effort in integrating their resources to form an international alumni union to better contribute to all alumni around the world.
TLI was established over five decades ago, with TLI alumni spreading among the world's top 500 companies, embassies, and international news agencies, and serving as political leaders and college presidents, among others.
At the moment, TLI has 18 branches in the world, including 10 in China and four in Taiwan. It has over 300,000 alumni and more than 20,000 instructors, and says it aims to continue providing the best service to students from around the world.
