Astros Chia-jen Lo makes 7th straight scoreless outing
The China Post news staffTAIPEI, Taiwan -- Houston Astros' Taiwanese pitcher Chia-jen Lo pitched another ninth inning, making his seventh straight scoreless appearance since his debut in the Major Leagues, as his team beat the L.A. Angels 8-2 on Friday.

The right-handed relief pitcher said he was expecting to come on but he was happy the coach trusted him with the job of ending the game.
“I was happy that our team won,” Lo was cited as saying by the Central News Agency.
He was cheered on by Taiwanese fans watching from the stands when he came on in the ninth inning.
“We came particularly to see Chia-jen Lo play” one Taiwanese fan, surnamed Teng, who was with his friends and family, was cited as saying.
Lo threw 18 pitches with 15 strikes. The fastest pitch logged at 97 miles per hour, according to the CNA.
The Astros won as Chris Carter hit a three-run homer and drove in a career-high five runs.
Robbie Grossman drove in a run and scored during a three-run fifth for the Major League-worst Astros (40-81), who have won three of four for the first time since June 18, according to The Associated Press.
