Su was welcomed at the airport by the Taiwan government's representative to Thailand Henry Chen and members of the Taiwanese business community in the country.
The DPP chairman is making the trip to show support for Taiwanese businessmen working in the Southeast Asian country and to consult them on the party's economic and trade policies, especially those concerning the region, according to a statement released by the DPP.
Su's first stop was at the Thai-Taiwan Business Association, where he met with Taiwanese businessmen from across Thailand, the DPP said.
Thailand is home to around 150,000 Taiwanese businessmen — the largest number in any East or South Asian country, excluding China, according to Chen.
