Academia Sinica member to receive Roger Revelle Medal
CNATAIPEI -- Taiwanese-American atmospheric scientist K.N. Liou, a member of Academia Sinica, has been named the recipient of this year's Roger Revelle Medal by the American Geophysical Union (AGU).

The Revelle Medal is awarded annually to an individual for outstanding contributions in atmospheric sciences, atmosphere-ocean coupling, atmosphere-land coupling, biogeochemical cycles, climate, or related aspects of the Earth system.
Liou will receive the medal at an AGU gathering in San Francisco in December in honor of his contribution to research on atmospheric radiative transfer and climate-related issues.
Liou is the founding director of the Joint Institute for Regional Earth System Science and Engineering at University of California, Los Angeles.
