TAIPEI -- The Houston Rockets is not looking to trade point guard Jeremy Lin, the first Taiwanese-American NBA player, according to an UltimateRockets.com report.
The report quoted Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey as saying that despite the team's pursuit of former Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard, he is not looking to deal Lin or center Omer Asik.
Citing unnamed NBA sources, CBS Sports.com said earlier this week that the Rockets would move both Lin and Asik if the team manages to close a deal with Howard, who became a free agent on July 1.
Lin, who signed a three-year US$25.1 million deal with the Rockets in July 2012 after rising to global stardom from the New York Knicks bench earlier that year, was not invited to Houston's pitch meeting with Howard, the CBS Sports report pointed out.
However, UltimateRockets said Morey has denied such speculation.
