In the 19th installment of the cervical cancer prevention campaign, P&G joined forces with Jenn Lann Temple (鎮瀾宮) in Taichung's Dajia District. The firm will deploy a fleet of vehicles equipped with breast and cervical cancer screening equipment as part of Jenn Lann Temple's renowned nine-day Mazu procession. P&G will provide worshippers at the procession with free screenings. The event will also see the support of the popular girl band Dream Girls on its opening day.
Built in 1770, Jenn Lann Temple is known as one of the most important centers of Mazu culture in Taiwan for its status as the organizer and starting point of the Mazu procession that attracts over a million pilgrims island-wide.
At the announcement press event yesterday, Jenn Lann Temple Vice Chairman Cheng Ming-kun (鄭銘坤) unveiled the limited edition “Protecting Your Life in 6 Minutes Mazu Omamoris.” The amulets featuring cartoon design are the brainwork of a team of female staff from Jenn Lann Temple.
Legislator Yen Kuan-hen (顏寬恆), son of Jenn Lann Temple Chairman Yen Ching-piao (顏清標), also showed his support in a pre-recorded address yesterday. He said he had mobilized his office's employees to fully cooperate with the event and to draw participants with the same rigor as in the “get out the vote” campaigns during elections. Yen said he will ask each employee to bring at least 10 family members and friends to receive a screening at the procession.
The best expression of love as a husband is to take his wife to the screenings, Yen added.
Also at the event were Wu Chien-yuan (吳建遠), division chief of the Bureau of National Health Promotion's Cancer Control and Prevention Division, Horng Shiow-shiun (洪秀勳), a section chief at the Taichung City Government's Bureau of Health, and temple Vice Chairman Cheng Ming-kun's daughter Cheng Yi-jie (鄭翊婕).
