Website lists top 10 most sought-after hostels
The China Post news staffTAIPEI, Taiwan -- With Youth Day arriving on March 29, local Web portal Yam (蕃薯藤) yesterday announced the top 10 most sought-after youth hostels, all priced at around NT$1,000 per person per night.

The listed hostels are certified and licensed by the Tourism Bureau (觀光局) to provide a low-cost accommodation option suitable for youths and backpackers that are both domestic and international, said Yam, adding that the top 10 list was cropped down from an initial survey of over 20 sought-after hostels in Taiwan based on incidences of Web searches.
Yam ranks the CityInn International Youth Hostel (新驛國際青年旅舍), the Taipei City Hostel (台北西門橙舍), and the HOLO Hotel (阿羅國際旅館) as among the best in Taipei. In addition to listing the Kiwi Express Hotel (奇異果快捷旅店), and the Single Inn (單人房) as the best youth hostels in Taichung and Kaohsiung, respectively.
Yam recommends the China Youth Corps-operated (CYC, 救國團) Alishan YAC International Youth Hostel (阿里山青年活動中心) for travelers wishing to visit the scenic attractions of Chiayi County, additionally listing the CYC-operated Kenting YAC International Youth Hostel (救國團墾丁青年活動中心), the Jail House International Youth Hostel (背包監獄民宿), and the Moncsor International Youth Hostel (澎湖滿客舍國際青年旅舍) as the top-ranked accommodation options for Nantou, Pingtung, Taitung and Penghu, respectively.
