Infant's remains found in waters off northeast coast

An Yilan-based diving association was conducting training in the waters when members found a bowling ball bag on the sea floor. Inside they found what looked like an infant's remains, according to reports.

The bag contained a black garbage bag bound with string, which held a number of infant-sized bones, according to reports. The evidence was turned over to local police and the coast guard for investigation.

Based on the amount of seaweed growth and other sediments, the bowling ball bag could have been submerged for as long as six months, according to the police, which added that a full investigation has been initiated.
