Each McDonald's to pass out 1,000 free McMuffins March 18The China Post news staff TAIPEI, Taiwan -- McDonald's restaurants across Taiwan will each distribute 1,000 free Egg McMuffins next Monday to celebrate National Breakfast Day.

Each of the 346 participating outlets across Taiwan will pass out 1,000 McMuffins on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a company statement released yesterday. The giveaway is expected to benefit over 340,000 patrons. The Taiwan promotion is part of McDonald's National Breakfast Day, a global breakfast initiative. Some 5,000 McDonald's Restaurants in Asia, the Middle East and South Africa are set to offer over 5 million McMuffins in total on Mar. 18. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and National Breakfast Day is McDonald's way of thanking loyal customers for making its breakfast the start of their day, according to the company.
