Taiwan's manufacturing sales down 3.61% in 2012CNA TAIPEI -- Taiwan's manufacturing sector saw sales fall to NT$12.78 trillion in 2012, a decrease of 3.61 percent from 2011, according to Economics Ministry statistics released yesterday.

For the fourth quarter of 2012, manufacturing sales dropped 1.63 percent from a year earlier to NT$3.19 trillion. Manufacturers of computers, electronics and opticals saw the biggest year-on-year sales decline of any major sector, with sales tumbling 20.34 percent to NT$860.3 billion for the year as a whole.
