Three arrested over drug dealing in Taoyuan: CIBThe China Post news staff TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Police arrested two men and a woman in the northern city of Taoyuan last Wednesday on charges of selling and smuggling drugs, the Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) said yesterday.
February 26, 2013, 12:15 am TWN The Taoyuan District Prosecutors office is currently investigating the case and the three arrested could be indicted for violating the Drug Abuse Prevention Act (毒品危害防制條例), according to a statement released by the CIB. The police arrested the trio during a Feb. 20 raid on the Taoyuan apartment of the chief suspect surnamed Lee. Police forces were originally targeting Lee only but they later found another fugitive drug dealer, surnamed Yu, and Yu's girlfriend at the scene. Yu and his girlfriend were at the apartment seeking to buy drugs from Lee, the CIB said. The police found three bags of heroin, weighed around 36 grams, and needles on the balcony of Lee's apartment. They also found another 26 grams of heroin and 4 grams of amphetamine hidden inside the bra of Yu's girlfriend, who was trying to smuggle them in this fashion, the CIB said.
