Hon Hai head to be part of KMT delegation to China

The source said Gou will travel to Beijing to take part in “related activities,” but gave no other details.

Lien, traveling at the head of a delegation of around 40 members, is scheduled to depart for China Feb. 24 for a four-day visit, during which he will meet with Chinese top leader Xi Jinping (習近平) and outgoing Chinese President Hu Jintao (胡錦濤).

The KMT sees Lien's visit as significant, saying that it will be the first meeting between influential figures from the two sides of the Taiwan Strait since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in November, which marked the official start of China's first leadership transition in a decade.

Meanwhile, Fan Liqing (范麗青) , spokeswoman of China's Taiwan Affairs Office, welcomed Lien's visit, noting that he has visited China several times and is a keen promoter of peaceful cross-strait development.
