Plummeting temperatures experienced across TaiwanCNA TAIPEI, Taiwan -- A cold air mass sent temperatures plunging around Taiwan on Wednesday, with Tamsui at the northern tip of the island recording a low for low-altitude areas at 11.9 degrees Celsius, the Central Weather Bureau said.
February 21, 2013, 12:04 am TWN Temperatures could fall as low as 11 to 15 degrees in areas north of the southern city of Tainan on Wednesday, while other areas further south could see lows of 16 degrees, the bureau said. The cold spell is expected to ease starting on Thursday, the bureau said. Highs across Taiwan had been in the 20s over the past few days. The bureau also forecast increased chances of rain in Northern and Central Taiwan leading into the weekend.
