Over 39% of Web users feel uneasy shopping online: pollCNA TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Although Taiwanese consumers are shopping online more than ever, they still have doubts about Internet security, according to a survey released yesterday.
February 21, 2013, 12:04 am TWN Conducted jointly by U.S.-based security software maker Symantec Corp. and Taiwanese technology blog Techbang, the survey found that 83.5 percent of respondents have used the Internet to shop. More than 39 percent of respondents, however, did not feel at ease when shopping online, despite taking precautions, and 57 percent insisted on shopping only on familiar and trustworthy websites, the survey said. It also found that 87 percent of respondents used two or more devices to surf the Internet, with 33 percent using both smartphones and tablets, even though these devices are less likely than personal computers to have security protection.
