4.5-magnitude earthquake jolts Taiwan's East Coast

TAIPEI--A magnitude-4.5 earthquake struck Eastern Taiwan at 9:32 a.m. Sunday, according to the Central Weather Bureau.

The earthquake's epicenter was located 38.2 kilometers north of Hualien County Hall at a depth of 19.8 km, bureau officials said.

The strongest tremor, with an intensity of 5.0, was felt in Nanshan Township in northeastern Taiwan's Yilan County.
