Cool temps forecast until Chinese New Year's Eve

Average daytime temperatures could drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius around the island, while sporadic showers are likely in northern and northeastern parts of the country, the bureau said.

However, the mercury could start to rise again from Feb. 10, with clear skies expected in most parts, it went on.

According to forecasters, the mercury could hover between 15-19, 16-24 and 17-25 degrees Celsius in Northern, Central and southern Taiwan, respectively, over the next two days.
