“We will continue to make better efforts in this area as instructed by the premier,” MOFA spokesman Steve Hsia said yesterday.
Hsia noted that pushing for more foreign investment has always been an important part of the Taiwan government's ongoing policy of “flexible diplomacy.”
Since June 2010, the MOFA has been evaluating on a regular basis overseas diplomats' performances in attracting foreign businesses to the country, he noted.
Representatives in foreign lands have actively engaged in promoting the policy for the past two years, he added.
