Drop to 3,200 people on unpaid leave: CLA dataCNA TAIPEI--The number of workers on unpaid leave has decreased by more than 1,000 over the past two weeks, according to government statistics released Wednesday.
January 17, 2013, 12:03 am TWN The total number of furloughed workers was 3,217, employed by 49 companies, as of a day earlier, the Council of Labor Affairs (CLA) said. The CLA said it will continue to monitor the situation and advise local labor administrations on matters pertaining to workers' rights. The CLA also urged workers to call their local labor administrations or the CLA hotline 0800-085-151 to file any grievances they might have. Since 2011, the CLA has been issuing reports on unpaid leave on the first and 16th of each month.
