20 companies to build bases in Taichung Software ParkCNA TAIPEI--The Export Processing Zone Administration (EPZA) said yesterday that the Taichung Software Park is scheduled to sign agreements next week with 20 domestic companies that want to build bases in the software development zone.
January 13, 2013, 12:02 am TWN A total of 12 universities in central Taiwan also intend to form an alliance to join with the software park in cultivating talent for software development on the island, the administration said. The EPZA under the Ministry of Economic Affairs supervises Taiwan's various free trade areas and industrial parks in Taiwan to facilitate exports. According to the EPZA, the 20 firms include aluminum electrolytic capacitor supplier Lelon Electronics Corp., software solution providers Lyma Innovative Tech Co. and Ever Sincerity Information System Co., and gaming machine developer BingoTimes Digital Technology Co. Among the investors, Lelon Electronics is planning to invest NT$390 million (US$13.45 million) to build an operating hub that is expected to be completed in 18 months and create 180 new jobs, it said. The 12 universities that intend to help cultivate software specialists include National Chung Hsing University, Tunghai University, Feng Chia University, and Hungguang University, the EPZA said.
