Japan prefecture to open business office in TaipeiCNA TAIPEI--The government of Toyama Prefecture in Japan will open a business office in Taipei on Jan. 8 to promote bilateral trade and industrial relations, according to a Taiwan institute.
January 6, 2013, 12:01 am TWN “It will serve as a direct window for both Taiwan and Toyama and will strengthen bilateral economic development,” the Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), which is helping to facilitate the arrangement, said in a recent statement. The goals of the office are to enhance trade cooperation, hold business seminars, and seek more business opportunities, the Taipei-based think tank said. Toyama Prefecture Governor Takakazu Ishii is expected to attend the opening ceremony, along with other dignitaries and businessmen, the CIER said.
