Japanese drum group to make their Taiwan debutCNA TAIPEI--Taiwan will become the 52nd country toured by Wadaiko Yamato when the group of Japanese taiko drummers visits the country for the first time in early January, according to the tour's promoter.
January 2, 2013, 12:02 am TWN Founded in 1993, the percussion troupe has made over 2,500 live performances worldwide and chose Taiwan as the first country to visit in 2013, Kuang Hong Arts Management Co. said in a recent statement. The group's “explosive power and stirring performances” will offer a good way to usher in 2013, the promoter said. Scheduled to give eight shows around Taiwan, the percussion group will stage four shows in Taipei from Jan. 4 to 6, and then head south to perform in Tainan on Jan. 9 and in Kaohsiung on Jan. 10. The drummers will then head back north to perform in Hsinchu City on Jan. 11 before ending their tour of Taiwan in Taichung with a show on Jan. 12.
