TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Standard Chartered Bank will be providing services for officials and people attending the flag raising ceremony on New Year's Day in front of the Presidential Office.
In consideration of the chilly weather forecast for Tuesday, Standard Chartered will assign 500 employees to work as volunteers and give away ginger tea from 4 a.m. to 7 a.m.
The bank encourages people who plan to take part in the ceremony to visit its Facebook page and participate in its raffle to win prizes like the iPhone 5.
In addition to lighting installations, replicas of Taiwan's notable scenic sites, such as Taroko Gorge, Lanyu (Orchid Island), Oluanpi and Taipei 101 Tower, will be displayed on Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office for participants to take memorable photos.
Standard Chartered opened its Taiwan office in 1985. The bank now has around 5,000 employees who provide comprehensive banking and financial services to consumers and corporate clients throughout the island.
