Doctors' concert to raise funds for orchestra's tourCNA TAIPEI--A group of prominent doctors in Taiwan will perform with the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO) at a concert that will be held to help raise funds for the troupe to tour Europe next year, the NSO said on Friday.
December 29, 2012, 12:05 am TWN The NSO, which is managed by the National Theater Concert Hall, has to raise between NT$15 million (US$517,720) and NT$20 million per year to go on international tours. Since it has been a great challenge for the NSO to reach this goal during the economic recession, the doctors, who are also classical music lovers, will exchange their white gowns for black tuxedos, performing seven songs with the NSO at the concert on Jan. 4 next year. In holding the concert, the doctors hope people involved in the music and art sectors will show their support and help the NSO bring the sound of Taiwan to the world.
