New season of 'Fun Taiwan Challenge' to hit TVs soon

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The premiere of “Fun Taiwan Challenge” Season 2 will be broadcast on Dec. 30 at 8 p.m. on TLC.
In this latest season of “Fun Taiwan Challenge,” there are 12 contestants from seven countries who will go to 60 cities or townships and compete in 51 contests.
Chief Secretary Tsai Ming-ling (蔡明玲) of the Tourism Bureau said that through the broadcast of the show, it can introduce Taiwan's culture, foods and ecology to audiences around the world.
“Fun Taiwan Challenge” host Janet Hsieh said “in this new season, we went to places we did not go in the first season like Lanyu (蘭嶼). We also have new challenges for contestants to experience including military life that most Taiwanese men have experienced.”
Contestants also will have chances to experience cultural elements that are unique to Taiwan like Taiwanese glove puppets, and Hakka and Aborigine Cultures.
In the new season, contestants will travel to many cities using local transportation to better experience local cultures, like riding bicycles to travel on Yenping (延平) Street in Tainan City, the first street ever built in Taiwan. The second season of “Fun Taiwan Challenge” will be broadcast in Taiwan, and 20 other countries including Malaysia, Singapore and Australia and it is expected to attract 13.6 million viewers.
