Swiss trade office selects school art contest winnersCNA TAIPEI, Taiwan -- The Trade Office of Swiss Industries (TOSI) in Taipei on Saturday selected 44 winning paintings from some 2,500 submitted by local primary school students in a competition aimed at promoting the European country and its tourism.
December 16, 2012, 12:17 am TWN In March, the office initiated the contest, which is open to primary school students in Taiwan born between 2000 and 2005. Interested participants can choose any Swiss scenery, landmarks, people or customs as their subject matter. By the submission deadline on Aug. 31, a total of 2,438 valid participants were vying for prizes worth over NT$700,000 (US$24,087), including Taipei-Zurich round-trip tickets, bicycles, watches and money, according to the office.
