The China Post news staff--The Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Co., Ltd. has had 36 incidents since it began functioning on Nov. 1, 2010 and should work harder to improve, a recent report issued by the Budget Center of the Legislative Yuan said.
The report said that since the company's establishment, the airport has suffered 16 incidents of water leakage, water seepage, and water logging cases, as well people intruding into aviation control areas, passenger bridges damaging aircraft, the sinking of an aircraft parking apron, the malfunction of escalators and clocks, as well as other incidents undermining flight safety.
The Budget Center said in the report that the repeated occurrence of these cases reflects the poor efficiency of the airport company in improving its management of the airport facility.
The center called for the company to develop an effective mechanism to minimize incidents.
