Procurement session to be held for buyers from western China

TAIPEI -- Taiwan's top trade promotion agency said yesterday it will hold its first-ever procurement meeting for buyers from northwestern and southwestern China in Taiwan in November.
Buyers from 10 provinces and regions, including Xinjiang, Ningxia, Shanxi, Qinghai, Gansu and Guangxi, have been invited to the meeting in Taipei on Nov. 1, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) said.
The invited companies, many of which have annual sales topping US$100 million, will discuss possible purchases with Taiwanese manufacturers of various consumer goods, including food, health supplements, daily necessities, medicine and medical equipment, it said.
