Magnitude 5.1 earthquake rattles East Taiwan: CWB

TAIPEI--An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck eastern Taiwan at 4:49 p.m. Saturday, but no casualties were immediately reported, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).

The earthquake's epicenter was located at sea 95.5 kilometers east of Yilan County Hall at a depth of 46.1 km, the bureau said.

The strongest tremor, with an intensity of 2.0, was felt in areas including Heping Township in Hualien County and Nanao Township in Yilan County.
