Jeremy Lin becoming 'true' point guard: US columnist

TAIPEI--Jeremy Lin of the Houston Rockets might not have found his rhythm in the NBA preseason, but he is becoming a “true point guard,” American sports columnist Kyle Adams said on Friday.

Although many people have had doubts about Lin and his performance so far in the preseason games, Lin still has a lot of potential that is “waiting to bust out,” Adams said on Space City Scoop, a website dedicated to the Rockets.

“He may not be the superstar everyone wants him to be, but he is becoming the true point guard nobody thought he would become,” Adams wrote.

Lin has been doing well in passing the ball to his teammates and “he's finding the open man with ease,” the columnist said.

“Lin and Omer Asik have formed a special bond between guard and center. They're always on the same page and you would think they have been playing together for years,” Adams wrote.

In the most recent preseason game on Oct. 17, Lin had 12 assists against the Memphis Grizzlies, with just two turnovers, in the Rockets' 109-102 victory.

Lin's shooting has been disappointing in the past five preseason games, especially the one against the San Antonio Spurs, in which he struggled with 1-of-10 shooting.
