Chimei Innolux Sept. sales hit monthly high for 2012

Chimei Innolux reported yesterday consolidated sales of NT$45.35 billion in September, up 2.1 percent from August.

Market analysts said strong demand from China reflected an increase in orders from Chinese producers eager to build up inventory ahead of an expected buying spree during the extended Oct. 1 National Day holiday.

Chimei Innolux shipped 14.25 million large-sized flat panels in September, 2.6 percent more than in August and the most in a single month in the company's history.

Large screens refer to displays of at least 10 inches or the largest used in TVs, notebook computers and desktop computers.

During the same period, the company's shipments of small- and medium-sized sized panels totaled about 37.7 million units, up 3.1 percent from August.

Analysts said Chimei Innolux remained in September the largest panel supplier to China's top six domestic TV brands — TCL, Skyworth, Changhong, Haier, Hisense and Konka.

In the third quarter, Chimei Innolux posted NT$129.55 billion in consolidated sales, up 15.2 percent from the second quarter.
