Hsieh, Chuang advance to quarterfinals at US Open

TAIPEI--Taiwanese tennis players Hsieh Su-wei and Chuang Chia-jung advanced with their respective partners to the women's doubles quarterfinals at the U.S. Open on Sunday, and will face each other in their next match.

Hsieh and Spaniard Anabel Medina Garrigues, seeded 16th in women's doubles, stunned the top-seeded U.S. pair of Liezel Huber and Lisa Raymond, winning 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.

The Taiwan-Spain duo took advantage of the world No. 1 pair's 33 unforced errors, 16 of which came in the opening set, to secure victory. Hsieh and her partner recorded 22 unforced errors.
