The Construction and Planning Agency yesterday unveiled the four room types of the affordable housings in the Fuzhou area of New Taipei City, which are sold all for NT$195,000 a ping (3.3 square meters).
The four room types are: unit with two bedrooms, two living rooms and one bath; unit with three bedrooms, two living rooms and two baths; unit with three bedrooms, two living rooms and two baths; and unit with four bedrooms, two living rooms and two baths.
The four have areas of respectively 15 pings, 27 pings, 29 pings and 35 pings, translating into total prices of NT$4.6 million, NT$8.3 million, NT$8.7 million and NT$10.8 million.
Since the Fuzhou houses opened for registration at the end of last year, as many as 25,000 interested buyers have signed up for the apartments, which only total 4,000. A lottery draw will take place to determine the lucky winners. Results of the draw will be announced in August. Those who do not get units in the Fuzhou apartments may take part in a draw for another batch of affordable housings near the A7 Station of the Airport MRT Line, in Linkou District.
Potential buyers have expressed the concern that the height of each unit will not be enough as the developer, Radium Life, allegedly cut a few corners to save on costs. Yet according to the showrooms unveiled by Radium Life yesterday, the height of each floor is 3.3 meters, higher than the 2.5 to 2.8 meters for typical public projects.
Display of the four room types will be available starting this Thursday in separate installments. The first installment is for buyers from offshore counties, Eastern, Southern and Central Taiwan, Yilan and Taoyuan Counties and Keelung City.
The showrooms will be open to buyers from Taipei from July 1 to 8 and those from New Taipei City from July 9.
