Gov't to unveil new list of large tax debtors on July 1CNA TAIPEI--The government will soon release a list of Taiwan's biggest tax debtors on July 1 in an effort to collect unpaid taxes, an official at the Ministry of Justice said recently.
June 25, 2012, 12:08 am TWN The list will include individuals and businesses that owe more than NT$10 million (US$333,980) and NT$50 million in taxes, respectively, said Chang Ching-yun, director-general of the Administrative Enforcement Agency under the ministry, on June 21. Further, personal information of the large tax debtors, as well as the amount of unpaid taxes, will be posted on the National Tax Administration's website for three months, said Chang. Citing tallies from the ministry, Chang said that the agency has collected a total of NT$165.4 billion from the tax delinquents over the years. Last year, a list including 1,416 individuals or businesses owing a total of NT$126.4 billion in unpaid taxes was published, according to data compiled by the tax administration.
