SAO PAULO, Brazil--Taiwanese delegates shared the nation's experiences in reforestation after devastating Typhoon Morakot in 2009 at a side event ahead of the June 20-22 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD) in Rio de Janeiro.
At the seminar organized by Taiwan, titled "Forests, Livelihoods, and Green Economy," Yeh Shin-cheng, deputy head of the Environmental Protection Administration, talked about Taiwan's forest management.
The seminar marked the first time for Taiwan to organize a side event at the UNCSD, Yeh said, adding that most of the attendees were international dignitaries, which showed the issues discussed raised great attention and that the publicity of the event was successful.
