MLB's Mariners may sign Taiwanese pitcher: reportOn his Twitter feed, Geoff Baker who covers the Mariners for the newspaper, said Saturday that the baseball team is “looking closely at LH (left-handed) reliever Hong-chih Kuo. Signing close?” Baker's online post came after recent media reports of three west coast teams being interested in Kuo, who became a free agent after the Dodgers decided not to offer him a contract for the 2012 season. Kuo, 30, became the first Taiwanese player on the MLB All-Star team in 2010 but suffered injuries that affected his performance in 2011. | |||||||||||||
