Job openings increase by 3% since CNY: job bankBetween Jan. 30-31, the job bank had 300,000 jobs on its books, up 3 percent from before the Lunar New Year holiday, Marketing Director Regis Chen said at a press conference. He added, however, that as companies are adopting a cautious approach toward investment and employment in the year ahead due to the European debt crisis, the job outlook is still grim. Meanwhile, the number of workers on furlough in Taiwan increased slightly in the second half of January, according to the latest data released that day by the Council of Labor Affairs (CLA). As of Jan. 31, a total of 11,946 employees from 87 companies had reached agreements with their employers to accept furlough and 11,891 of them were on unpaid leave at that time, according to the CLA statistics. | |||||||||||||
