The 27-year-old lost to tough veteran Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina 6-4, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in just over three hours. Hampered by a first serve percentage of only 53 percent, Lu yielded 17 break points during the match and lost six of them. Lu has struggled with nagging injuries over the summer — first fighting a foot problem and then lower back issues — but he hopes to be fully recovered when the ATP Tour comes to Asia in September and October.
