Updated Sunday, July 11, 2010 1:36 am TWN, The China Post new staff Wu urges DPP to fulfill duty to votersWithout mentioning the disruptive violent acts, including hurling a 1.1-kilogram clock that injured a lawmaker of the ruling Kuomintang (KMT), DPP legislators and a spokesman said the KMT will be held accountable for all the consequences if it insisted on reviewing and approving a landmark trade accord with China and several other bills without the participation of the DPP. When attending a job fair held at the Hsinchu Science Park, Premier Wu said all lawmakers have the responsibility of supervising the operations of the executive branch on behalf of voters. Voters should call for their DPP legislators to return to the special plenary legislative session to jointly review the economic cooperation framework agreement (ECFA) with China and make sure that the reached deals will optimize the interests for people in Taiwan, Wu said. Wu also stressed that the ECFA with China and the proposed revisions of several related laws concerning patents, trademarks, import customs tariff rates, and rules affecting plant species and seedlings across the Taiwan Straits are all meant to better safeguard Taiwan's interests. All previous agreements reached with Beijing, including the direct cross-strait flight service and joint fight against crimes, have been beneficial to the people, Wu said. None of the articles in the ECFA will have the negative effect of “selling out Taiwan” as concocted by some people's wild imaginations, he said. Wu suggested that critics study carefully Article 15 in the ECFA that enables Taiwan to terminate the agreement when it deems necessary to renegotiate the terms within a period of 30 days. Under the stipulation, the trade pact will automatically become invalid if the other side refuses to hold new talks in 30 days or when no consensus is reached in a period of 180 days, Wu explained. Comments July 11, 2010 jasonhu@ Reply The pot (KMT) is calling the kettle (DPP) black! July 13, 2010 ludahai_twn@ Considering how the KMT-controlled LY boycotted nearly everything Chen proposed in his second term, they really have no standing here. Furthermore, they are not keeping their commitments to give this a fair and open reading and are still trying to ram this through in violation of the rules and procedures of the LY show that the KMT still has no respect for the rule of law. July 15, 2010 carltanong@ @ludahai_ twnThe DPP doesn’t care about the Rules of Law... The DPP cares more of their own political power for themselves than concerning to our Country and people’s welfare. The DPP have learned the art of campaigns of HATRED to win election through advertising of violence inside and outside of the LY. That’s the TRADEMARK of Devil Political Party. July 16, 2010 ludahai_twn@ @dppzuck -- and the KMT continues to hold on to or sell for a tidy profit the assets it stole from the people during the one-party state/White Terror Days@carltanong -- Actually, the rule of law in Taiwan improved during the Chen administration. It is under President Horsey that the rule of law has slipped. Hatred? You mean the campaign adverts in which the kmt used images of Hitler, bin Laden, Hussein, and the 9/11 towers burning in their anti-Chen adverts?!?!? You are a great comedian... you need to quit your day job as propaganda chief for your local KMT chapter. July 20, 2010 andyschleck@ @carltanongStop pretending to "love" your country if you openly proclaim to hate the DPP - it means you hate millions of your fellow-countrymen. Try to control your own exclamations of hatred and do an effort to be more reasonable without getting carried away by exuberant nationalistic emotions. Not DPP supporters, but people like yourself are more likely to start "an internal war" should your "vision" for Taiwan not come true. Something you wrote about in a past comment: "In time of INTERNAL CONFLICTS. I (carltanong) will stand and hold the flag of Republic of China." Meaning? Fight fellow-citizens? Carlnatong, stop shouting your cheap-sounding and childish "I hate all that's Green" remarks and try to grow up. You'll be a happier and potentially less dangerous individual. July 20, 2010 carltanong@ @andyschleckThe word hate and hatred is not in my dictionary. Pretending to "love" my country? Then you are childish with cheap sounding and false raw accusation in supporting the DPP evil principles. Try to think and control your sense and read it carefully... "Without a Country. Where is your home? Without a home. Will your family have any future"? You say I’m pretending that I love my country. You read carefully again... "My country R.O.China and my countrymen are my LIFE". Do you understand what I mean? I write: "In time of INTERNAL CONFLICTS. I (carltanong) will stand and hold the flag of Republic of China". +And you added "Meaning? Fight fellow-citizens?"+. My answer to you and the greens are simple. Not only me but many even the Taiwanese Chinese and the Taiwan Aborigines will fight against you and the greens. Because it’s too hot for the Red Sun to come back again in our beautiful island. Just post all the comments from the past and present of my statement. And let all the readers online read it. And thank you for your advice "You'll be a happier and potentially less dangerous individual"! But I don’t buy your senseless advice. Because I’m a young successful energetic man. My advice to you. Better grow up than to be a stubborn supporter and take for granted from the Devil Political Party and the Greens dreamers. GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND ANDY. July 21, 2010 andyschleck@ @carltanongUnless you're trying to crack jokes in your comments, you need to seek psychological assistance. July 21, 2010 jasonhu@ Mr. Carltanong,Those millions of Taiwanese who did not vote for the KMT are also part of Taiwan. You talk about "fighting against the Greens". That would involve fighting against 40% of 17 million voters who did not vote KMT in 2008. I see the point of one commentator above: your mindset is a dangerous one. July 21, 2010 my8words@ ""Just post all the comments from the past and present of my statement"" for Carltanong: I did because I was curious. This is for you, Japan-hating person: There are lots of good things you need learn from Japanese people. As a Taiwanese, I also feel some emotional distance from Japan as a country but I love the Japanese people. These are kind, polite, and honest people and also have good manners. They try never to inconvenience anyone. Compared to your words, Chinese people appear rather rough and coward. July 30, 2010 johnny.brian@ Chen is a good lawyer and an amazing crooked president where his wife did the corruption, bribes and other sources of money under Chen guidance, which he denied of any knowledge. When a corrupt person in power, he did was to change judiciary system, and installing various dummies and cronies such as policemen, judges and prosecutors across branch offices during his terms in order to get exemption even violated every law of land after his term is over. All the good things done by ex-Pres. Chen or any person will become useless after revelation of his true beings. Would you drink a glass of water with cockroach inside?
