Nat'l park events to mark R.O.C. 100th anniversary

TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Construction and Planning Agency (CPA) announced it will hold a series of events in the nation's eight National Parks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of China and to promote the beauty of Taiwan's natural scenery.

CPA said through these events, they want to raise public awareness of maintaining a level of sustainable living and conserving the ecological environment. CPA hopes that these events would benefit the next few hundreds and thousands of years in Taiwan.

There will be seven events, including Climbing Seven Summit (七頂峰) on March 6, Four Seasons Marathon in Kenting on March 14, National Park Show, National Park Cafe Forum and three others.

The agency has invited three mountain climbing experts who successfully reached the top of Mount Everest-Wu Yu-lung (伍玉龍), Chiang Hsiu-chen (江秀真) and Huang Chih-hao (黃致豪)-to be the representatives.
