In the run up to this festive season, Mao said that highway buses will be available as long there are parties interested in taking the bus. There will also be MOTC workers to direct traffic and tow trucks standing by inside the tunnel during rush hour. MOTC is hoping to keep the highest traffic volume at 2,900 vehicles per hour, said Mao. To improve traffic flow between Taipei and Yilan, Mao urges the public to opt for public transits instead of driving cars. In addition, he said MOTC has provided railway or highway bus ticketholders with free shuttle services from Luodong Train Station to Dong-Shan River and the Center for Traditional Arts. The buses will leave every 15 minutes during the holiday, said Mao. Subscribe to The China Post and save 25%. Click here |
