Taipei, Kaohsiung make NLI repayment proposals

The capital city plans to return NT$35.4 billion in overdue fees in five years, while the southern port city aims at settling NT$12.6 billion in six years, said Chen Yi-min, president of the Bureau of Labor Insurance. Both cities' repayment schemes will start next year, Chen told lawmakers.

The Council of Labor Affairs is seeking changes to the payment scheme for the insurance program to prevent local governments from failing to pay their fees.
