Updated Wednesday, October 28, 2009 9:32 am TWN, The China Post news staff Tropical Storm Mirinae forms, may bring rainIn a month that has already seen a rapid succession of typhoons, the bureau reported that the latest formation is currently northwestbound, heading towards the Philippines and may potentially cause heavy rainfall in Taiwan. Tropical Storm Mirinae is currently 2,500 km away from Taiwan, moving at a speed of 29 km per hour. According to CWB forecaster Wang Yao-hua, the high pressure system in the Pacific Ocean will cause the typhoon to travel west for the coming three days, leading it towards Luzon Island, south of Manila. The bureau expects the typhoon to reach the Philippines by Friday or Saturday.
